This week’s bulletin was made possible with information provided by

NIGERIA, 5N. Tom, PA3TG will be QRV with his new call 5N40TG
beginning January 1, 2017. Activity will be on 20 meters using CW
and SSB. QSL to home call.

MALDIVES, 8Q. Neven, LZ1COM is QRV as 8Q7ND until January 5.
Activity is on the HF bands. QSL to home call. In addition, Rolf,
DL8AZ will be QRV as 8Q7AZ from Meerufenfushi Island, IOTA AS-013,
from January 2 to 11. Activity will be holiday style on 40 to 10
meters using SSB. QSL to home call.

WEST MALAYSIA, 9M2. Victor, R6AF is QRV as 9M2/R6AF/p from Pulau
Babi Tengah Island, IOTA AS-046. Activity of late has been on 40,
20 and 17 meters. His length of stay is unknown. QSL to home call.

QATAR, A7. A large group of operators will be QRV as A70X from Al
Safliyah Island, IOTA AS-088, from January 1 to 7. Activity will be
on the HF bands using CW, SSB and various digital modes. QSL via
M0OXO.

CANARY ISLANDS, EA8. Mauro, IV3HAX is QRV as EA8/IV3HAX from
Fuerteventura Island, IOTA AF-004, until January 6. Activity is on
the HF bands using CW, RTTY and PSK. QSL direct to home call.

COLOMBIA, HK. A group of operators will be QRV with special
commemorative call sign 5K6RM and active from January 2 to 9 during
the event of the Feria de Manizales. Activity will be on 80 to 2
meters using CW, SSB, RTTY, and SSTV. QSL via bureau.

SVALBARD, JW. Erik, LA2US is QRV as JW2US from Hopen Island, IOTA
EU-063, for the next six months. Activity is in his spare time on
the HF bands using mostly CW. QSL via operator’s instructions.

NORWAY, LA. Special event stations LM80Q and LM80REX are QRV during
all of 2017 to celebrate the birthdays of the Norwegian royal
couple. Queen Sonja and King Harald V both turn 80 years old in
2017. QSL both calls via LA9VDA.

FINLAND, OH. During all of 2017, in celebration of the centenary of
Finland’s independence, Finnish radio amateurs are allowed to use
the prefix OF in place of the usual OH. In addition, jubilee call
sign OF100FI/portable district number will be activated by various
Amateur Radio clubs throughout Finland. QSL via operators’
instructions.

SLOVAK REPUBLIC, OM. Pavel, OM3CND will be QRV with special call
OM685RADOLA during all of 2017 to mark the 685th anniversary of the
town of Radol’a. QSL to home call.

DENMARK, OZ. During all of 2017 special event stations 5P90EDR,
OV90EDR, OX90EDR, OZ90EDR, and OZ7D will be QRV to celebrate the
founding of Eksperimenterende Danske Radioamatoere on August 15,
1927. Activity will be on the HF bands. Station OZ7D will be
active using only JT-modes. QSL via operators’ instructions.

SLOVENIA, S5. Members of the Radio Club Cerkno are QRV as S557E
during all of 2017 to celebrate the club’s 60th anniversary. QSL
direct to S50A.

LAOS, XW. Bruce, 3W3B will be QRV as XW4XR from January 3 to 15.
Activity will be on the HF bands using CW, RTTY and JT65. QSL via
E21EIC.

NICARAGUA, YN. Operators EA3BT and EA3WL will be QRV as H74B and
H74WL, respectively, from December 31 to January 6, 2017 from Big
Corn Island, IOTA NA-013. Activity will be on 40 to 6 meters using
mainly SSB, with some CW and RTTY. QSL both calls via EA3BT.

THIS WEEKEND ON THE RADIO. ARRL Straight Key Night, NCCC RTTY
Sprint, QRP 80-Meter CW Fox Hunt, NCCC CW Sprint, Bogor Old and New
SSB Contest, AGB New Year 80-Meter Snowball Contest, SARTG New Year
RTTY Contest, AGCW Happy New Year CW Contest, AGCW VHF/UHF CW
Contest and the QRP ARCI New Years CW Sprint will certainly keep
contesters busy this upcoming holiday weekend.

The ARS Spartan CW Sprint is scheduled for January 3, 2017. The
UKEICC 80-Meter SSB Contest, Phone Fray, CWops Mini-CWT Test and QRP
40-Meter CW Fox Hunt are all scheduled for January 4, 2017.

The ARRL National Parks on the Air event that ran during all of 2016
to mark the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service concludes
this weekend.
