Activity will be on 20 meters using CW and SSB. QSL via SV2RSG/A

Karyes, 63086, Greece.

AZERBAIJAN, 4K75. Look for Azerbaijani amateur radio operators to
be using either 4J75 or 4K75 prefixes starting May 5, to celebrate
the 75th anniversary of the victory in WW2. The length of the
activity is not known at this time.

INDONESIA, 8C2. Members of the ORARI are active as 8C2WFH (Work
>From Home), until May 19. Activity is on 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10
meters using CW, SSB, RTTY, BPSK31 and FT8.

JAPAN, 8J. Look for special event station 8J1ITU to be QRV from
April 30 to May 31. Activity is to celebrate the anniversary of the
ITU World Telecommunication and Information Society Day on May 17.

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, A60. Look for activity under special call
sign A60FTDMC during FT8DMC activity weeks, July 1 to 31, on various
HF bands. QSL via OE4VIE.

INDIA, AU2. Members of the West Bengal Radio Club, VU2WB, will be
active as AU2COV until July 26. Activity is to provide assistance
in fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic. QSL via VU2WB.

ENGLAND, GB75. Members of the RSGB Contest Club will activate the
following call signs May 1 to 31 and August 1 to 31: GB1945PE,
GB1945PJ and GB75PEACE. Operations will be on various HF bands and
6 meters using CW, SSB and the digital modes. QSLs are only via
LoTW and eQSL. No paper QSL cards.

SOUTH KOREA, HL40. Look for special event station HL40GDM until May
31. Activity is to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the May 18
Democratic Uprising in Gwangju. Operations will be on all bands and
modes. QSL via HL4CCM, direct, by the Bureau, eQSL or ClubLog.

AUSTRIA, OE50. Jo, OE4VIE is active as OE50MHZ until June 30 to
mark the 30th anniversary of the first provisional release of the
frequency range 50 to 52 MHz for Amateur Radio in Austria.
Operations will be on CW, SSB and the digital modes on 6 meters.
QSL via LoTW and eQSL, paper QSLs will be sent automatically via the
Bureau.

POLAND, SN100. Czeslaw, SP9FZU will be active with the special call
sign SN100PS in memory of Second Silesian Civil War in 1920.
Activity will be on various HF bands. QSL via SP9KAG, by the Bureau

75TH ANNIVERSARY OF WWII. During the month of May, many stations
will be active commemorating the end of World War II. Look for the

UP75 Kazakhstan.

ANTARCTICA, 8J. Members of the Japanese Antarctic Research
Expedition team (JARE) will be active as 8J1RL from Showa Research
Station, Queen Maud Land (AN-015), until January 2021. Listen for

JAMAICA, 6Y6. Nigel, 6Y5HN is supporting the COVID-19 Stay-At-Home

CHINA, B0-9. Members of the Chinese Radio Amateurs Club (CRAC) will
activate 10 special event call signs (B0CRA – B9CRA) across their
country to make QSOs with hams all over the world. Operations will
take place from May 1 to 7. QSL via BA1GG.

CANADA, CH2. Ian, VO2IR is active as CH2IR until June 20 to remind
everyone to Stay-At-Home. Activity is on various HF bands. QSL via

LEBANON, OD5/OD50. Members of the Radio Amateurs of Lebanon (RAL)
will activate special event call signs OD50SH and OD5STAYHOME to
spread awareness and Stay-At-Home as part of social distancing
policies during the COVID-19 outbreak. QSL via IZ8CLM.

BELARUS, EU. The following special event stations will take part in
the Pobeda-75 commemoration of the end of World War II: EV75B,
EV75F, EV75GK, EV75K, EV75M and EV75PG.

ENGLAND, G. Members of the RSGB Contest Club will put GB1945PE,
GB1945PJ and GB75PEACE on the air during May and August to mark
Victory in Europe and Victory in Japan Days. QSL only via LoTW and
eQSL. Also, The Royal Air Force Amateur Radio Society (RAFARS)
marks the end of World War II in Europe with the call sign GB75VED

ITALY, I. The ARI Fidenza Club (IQ4FE) will put a number of special
event stations on the air during 2020 to commemorate the life and
achievements of Guglielmo Marconi. During May, II4TEA commemorates

BULGARIA, LZ. The Bulgarian Federation of Radio Amateurs (BFRA)
celebrates its 50th anniversary with the call sign LZ50BFRA until

AUSTRIA, OE. Alex, OE3DMA will be active with the call sign OE60IPA
on April 30 and May 1 for the 60th anniversary of the International

RUSSIA, RP. A large number of special event call signs with the
prefix RP75 will be active from Russia celebrating the end of World
War II.

AUSTRALIA, VK. Station VI250COOK commemorates Captain James Cook’s
voyage on HMS Endeavour along Australia’s east coast with activity

operating during its inaugural year in honor of World Pulmonary

EASTER ISLAND, XR0. Hans-Martin, DK2HM will be QRV as XR0YHM from

CROATIA, 9A. Members of the Hrvatski radioamaterski Savez are
celebrating World Amateur Radio Day with special call sign 9A20WARD

ENGLAND, G. Members of the Bury Radio Society urge everyone to
“Wash Your Hands”. They are using the call sign GB9WYH until May 11

to 70 centimeters (including 60 and 4 meters) using CW, SSB

ANTARCTICA, RI1. Alexander, RX3ABI will be active as RI1ANM from
the Russian Mirny Station in Queen Mary Land, (AN-016), on the coast
of the Davis Sea, until early 2021. Activity will be on various HF
bands during his spare time. QSL via home call.

MALDIVES, 8Q. Yusuke, JJ1DQR is planning to be active as 8Q7QR from
Male Island (AS-013) from September 4 to 8. Activity will be on
various HF bands using SSB and FT8. He will also be in the All
Asian DX SSB Contest, September 5 and 6. QSL via JJ1DQR, direct or
by the Bureau.

GUATEMALA, TG9. Dwight, VE7BV plans to be active as TG9BBV from
November 1 to 30. Activity will be holiday style on most bands
using mostly CW with some SSB and FT8. QSL via VE7BV, direct, by

SPANISH ENTITIES, EA, EA6, EA8, EA9. Spain, Balearic Islands,
Canary islands and Ceuta and Melilla will participate in World
Amateur Radio Day activities and the 95th anniversary of IARU.
Stations from Spain will be AM1WARD, AM2WARD, AM3WARD, AM4WARD,

PHILIPPINES, DU. Special event station DX0STAYHOME is from the
Philippine Amateur Radio Association for the duration of their
community quarantine. Eddie, DU1EV says, ”We encourage everyone to
stay home and operate their amateur radio stations.”

UNITED NATIONS, 4U. United Nations HQ station 4U1UN was reported on
F/H FT8 on 20 and 40 meters.

CANADA, VE. The Radio Amateurs of Canada will activate the
following special event calls for the World Amateur Radio Day on
April 18: VA2RAC, VA3RAC, VE1RAC, VE4RAC, VE5RAC, VE6RAC, VE7RAC,
VE8RAC, VE9RAC, VO1RAC, VO2RAC, VY0RAC, VY1RAC, and VY2RAC.

UGANDA, 5X. Shabu, M0KRI, ex-9U4RI, plans to be active as 5X1RI
sometime during the end of July to mid-August.

BELARUS, EW. Station EV75F commemorates the 75 years since the end
of World War II. QSL direct via EW3E or go through Club Log’s OQRS.

ENGLAND, G. Special call GB75PEACE will be used by RSGB members as
part of VE Day and VJ Day celebrations, May 1 to 31 and August 1 to
31. They will be QRV on the HF bands and 6 meters using phone, CW

SAUDI ARABIA, HZ. Celebrating World Radio Amateur Radio day,

sinking. Operations will be through April on 160 meters on CW, FT8,

SOLOMON ISLANDS, H4. Bernhard, DL2GAC continues to be active as
H44MS on 40 and 17 meters using SSB and FT8.

JAPAN, JA. 8J4ROSE is QRV to celebrate the Fukuyama Roses Festival
until May 17. QSL via bureau.

BRAZIL, PY. Gustavo, PT2ADM is QRV as ZW75FEB, commemorating the
end of World War II and honoring the memory of his father, who
fought in Italy as part of the Brazilian Expeditionary Force (FEB).
Operations continue until the end of May. QSL via PT2ADM, direct or
via the Bureau.

TURKEY, TA. Members of the YM3KB team mark Turkey’s National
Sovereignty and Children’s Day, April 23, with operations throughout
the month as TC100KIDS on the HF bands using SSB, CW and FT8. QSL
via YM3KB. Also, Metin, TA2BZ is QRV as TC19MED to pay tribute to
workers in the medical sectors, until May 29. QSL via TA2BZ.

LUXEMBOURG, LX. Members of the Radioamateurs du Luxembourg (R.L.)
will be operating special event station LX5WARD for the 2020 World
Amateur Radio Day, until April 26. Special QSLs will be available
via the LX IARU QSL Bureau.

GUERNSEY, GU75. The Guernsey Amateur Radio Society (GARS) will be
running a special event station from May 6 to 12 to mark the 75th
anniversary of the Liberation of Guernsey from Occupying Forces.
Using the call sign GU75LIB, activity will be on the HF bands, all
modes, QO100, and possibly some 2 meter and 70cm activity as well.

SPECIAL STAY AT HOME STATIONS/ACTIVITIES. Be looking for many
special event stations to hit the airwaves to promote ”STAY-AT-HOME”
and raise awareness for the restrictions necessary to fight the
spread of the corona virus. These stations include: 8A1STAYHOME
(Indonesia), 9K9STAYHOME (Kuwait), A60SH/1 SH=StayHome (United
Arab Emirates), A60SH/2, A60SH/3, A60SH/4, A60SH/5, AX2020STAYHOME

beginning March 10. QSL via EB7DX.

CAYMAN ISLANDS, ZF. Joel, NF3R is QRV as ZF2RJ until March 10.
Activity is on the HF bands. This includes being an entry in the
ARRL International DX SSB contest. QSL via LoTW.

THIS WEEKEND ON THE RADIO. The ARRL International DX SSB Contest,
NCCC RTTY Sprint, QRP 80-Meter CW Fox Hunt, NCCC CW Sprint, Novice
Rig Roundup, Wake-Up. QRP CW Sprint, SKCC Weekend CW Sprintathon,
Open Ukraine RTTY Championship, UBA Spring CW Contest and the WAB
3.5 MHz Phone/CW will certainly keep contesters busy this upcoming
weekend.

The 4 States QRP Group Second Sunday Sprint is scheduled for March
9.

The CWops Mini-CWT Test, RSGB 80-Meter Club CW Championship, AWA
John Rollins Memorial DX CW Contest, QRP 40-Meter CW Fox Hunt and
Phone Fray are all scheduled for March 11.
